I read the obituary of a guy called John Manners yesterday. He sounded a real character. I particularly liked the story about how when he married his second wife, under his suit he had on his full hunting kit!! Then as soon as they'd tied the knot he got his new wife to drop him off at a nearby pub where his hunt were meeting. He then doffed his hunting cap to the Master and lots of confetti fell out to announce to everyone that's he'd got hitched!! This reminded me a bit of my own wedding which was attended by the huntsman, whipper in and hounds amongst other people from the hunt. The date for our wedding was chosen so that my husband didn't have to miss a days hunting and as it was at the beginning of the season we didn't go on honeymoon and still haven't!!! I'm sure lots of you have got some equally funny stories to tell!!
