Thank you posting this hear... I will give an overview of whats happened when... May 2009 funky started to get poorly he was given antibiotics for an upper resporitory infection, approx 2 weeks after that he's had a episode like displayed in the videos. I called the vet out because he'd not done a poo all evening and showed what I thought looked like colicky symtoms, my vet at the time gave him the jab for colic and bute. He eventually pass droppings and returned to normal after the next day, after that they started happening regularly, the July he was fine I was relieve I thought he'd turned a corner. But August came and he was worse than ever, he was dropping weight and having these episodes weekly, I got my vet involved for further investigation. They took bloods and was due to be scoped to check his belly for ulcers ( bloods came up with anemia.), but the very next day he was soo ill again he was dripping in sweat and doing what was displayed in the video, kicked his belly again showing colicky symtoms again, the emergency vet referred him to o'gormans for tests, the did the scope, nothing, worm counts, and tape worms all came back fine, things that have cropped up is that he's got a slight AV block at rest that disapears at exercise and when eating. They did a glucose absorbtion test 64% malabsortion (slightly abnormal) still showed up as anemic in bloods. Neuro exam fine.. They sent him home, because he did not have a episode while he was there, after being home for a week he picked up and put weight on, but the friday after coming home he looked tucked up and very tight again, after being home a week he (last wednesday) I found him slumped over a fence in the field, so ask the vets at o'gorman had requested a video of his episodes I did that, he went down five times that evening, and hadn't done droppings. My vet came out because I was very concerned that he was going down again. She treated him as a colic horse once again, after that he eventually when for a poo, but was still very sweaty and upset so called her again in the evening, that's when she referred him back to o'gormans. he went there on friday, they scanned his belly, and scoped his bladder, and did a exlap on tuesday, he had a very bad reaction after the surgery, and started to reflux they were getting about 10 litres off him that's now slowly got better, today they are going to try him on a tiny bit of water and grass to see how he reactions, they found nothing on the exlap and have taken biopsy's waiting for those to come back, he's now looking like a grey hound and where he sweats alot his coat has gone all funny in areas... they can't seem to find out what could be causing him to be so ill, and we're still non the wiser, I am desperate for ideas on what it could be. xxx
