A must read for any rider or owner, if not already impregnated on brain from childhood. Easy clear and very simple to understands, explanes all aspect of horse keeping that everyone should know and use as second nature, so many owners seem to skip learning the essentials and good basic practice! How many can name all parts of foot internally and externally, how many are aware of poisionus plants other than ragwort, how many people actually know how many beats there are in each pace and who knows the order the feet fall, this is a must for all riders to understand better! How can a horse be improved if you don't understand its foot fall? I have 3 copies of this book, the first one printed in 1970's second one in the 1980's and I bought another copy when reprinted in the 1990's think yet another copy is due soon! |

As an almost ex-PC mum (my daughter is finally too old this year) Ex-PC secretary and still website co-ordinator and merchandise person, I can reliably tell you that the Manual has increased in size everytime it has been reprinted. The basic info is the same, but there are additional sections in the newer versions. I have my own 1968 version, we have the 1999 version and I can refer to the new ones in my stash should I need to! The photos are updated (tho it would be quite amusing if the 1960,s ones were still there!)Some of the drawings are still the same as the originals! |

Yes, I have an old British one, not sure when it was printed. It should be in storage with a bunch of my books. If it wasn't one of the boxes my ex husband stole. I also have the new USPC manuals, they were excellent sources of information. United States Pony Club made one for each level, D, C, B, A. I only have the D and C versions. The B and A usually have to be special ordered through Pony Club because book stores don't seem to sell them. |
