Hi horsevet im looking for a bit of advice, my 6year old cob has what appears to be a small wart on his shoulder,It doesnt seam to be causing any discomfort and it isnt interfering with any tack or his way of going.I have had him for three years and he had this blemish when i got him,It hasnt grown any bigger, and isnt really causing any problems apart from looking a little unsightly,we were showing him in hand and the judge said that it was noticable and when i asked around at the yard i was told to try the Bazooka that wart, product in an attempt to get rid of the blemish,But i also read that if it was a sarcoid that it may be better left alone because somtimes when sarcoids are removed they may come back and be even bigger. I would be interested in your opinion on this matter. Could a preperation used on human warts be used without harmfull effect on my horse,The blemish or wart can only be seen in the summer when he is in his summer livery.

Hi To some degree I go with the sentiment that says "if it ain't broke don't fix it!". There are some homeopathic remedies that can treat warts and sarcoids. I have no experience of using Bazooka so can't advise on that one. Surgical removal can result in regrowth and often in multiple form around the edge of the incision to remove the initial one. My advice would be to leave well alone or try a homeopathic option.

My mare has two sarcoids on the top of her hind inner leg. One is just a lump which quite honestly i would have left because it is causing no problems. Unfortunately, the other is raw on the end of it - which is affecting her due to the flies, which have now made it a wound which bleeds. The vet is coming out to put rubber bands on them - which will effectively make them drop off. Unfortunately, i understand that , as you say, they will return and possibly be even larger. Do you think i should have them both done or just the one that is inflamed?

Hi if it turns out to be sarcoids or actually even if it is anything else then 'Camrosa' cream is very effective. It is a natural cream remedy for all manner of skin conditions and it needs to be used failthfully daily for an number of weeks. I had a pony with sarcoids around his eye and it was perfectly safe to use this cream in this area and they all dropped off after about 3 months of use. Some other creams can be very caustic and burn the skin - Camrosa does none of that. Good luck!

Hi. Lumps under the saddle are not uncommon. I think it can happen when dirt gets worked into open pores during work and sets up a reaction. If they're not causing a problem I wouldn't be too concerned and they'll probably go in time or you can try some sort of poultice to try to draw anything out. I don't like using anything that I don't know what's in it and Camerosa falls into that category. I've heard stories that it's not as natural as it makes out but I don't know. Best wishes HorseVet
