uhh, why are you using a whip? That's probably why he's so upset. Gelding him won't change how he is much if he's three. get a trainer!

Okay, people, let's give some constructive criticism! And was that really a necessary comment, Rahara? noneotherthan01 has got a point, gelding him this late won't have as much effect but we had our stallion gelded at three and a half and with time, he's become a gentleman. I think it's the best thing for him- he sounds pushy! I don't think we ought to judge you about your whip, that's what they were designed for, being used quietly, but their presence can be enough to remind a horse where the limits are. I know you don't want to get him gelded, but whatever training he has, he's always going to be a handful. It's also upsetting for him, he's constantly wound up, confused because his instincts tell him that he should be the leader, frustrated because he can't fullfil his need to be amorous all the time!! Both you and he will be calmer and happier, but at the end of it all, he's your horse and it's your decision. I hope whatever you decide turns out okay for you :) x
