Just a passing thought- in the horsey world and sometimes on site like TrotOn, horsey people are brought together, family because they share a love for the same thing- anything equine. But I pick up that horses can also divide us, through bad sportsmanship in competitions, abuse and exploitation of our equine friends, disgreement on how things should be done, sensitivity about what people say about one another's life and horses, snobbery perhaps, the way some groups of equestrians may think they are somewhat superior to others. I am not posting this to encourage those divides, but to get us to think about them and perhaps work on making them less of a problem. Do you think they exist? Do you think they are acceptable? Do you think they are a problem? Do you think we can fix them? x

I think the most common divide a horse causes is that between partners haha i know plenty of people who have divorced because the husband complained that they spent too much time with the horse and loved them more (or vise versa) and usually it was true! :P and i do think they can be fixed but in some cases you have to think would you want to? I know if i had a boyfriend who said he wanted me to spend more time with him and a little less with gren i know where i would tell him to go! haha

I have to agree and possibly horses might even be dividing the relationship between my boyfriend and I, but he knew that when he started dating me and I'm still young and there are plenty of fish in the sea. I also think possibly friends. From competition rivalry to normal drama. Some of the girls where I ride used to be really nice and supportive, but now they throw each other "under the bus".

I used to ride in a club with one of my best friends, but I left because I didn't like how horses were treated. We were planning on leaving together, but just few days before that, her parents bought her one of those horses, so she stayed. I haven't seen here since then- and it's been a while. :S
