My father has said that i can get my Morgan mare pregnant or send her to be trained (I really want to ride her, but i think i would love to have a baby too). If i send her for training she will not go to get pregnant but i think if i get her pregnant he will still send her for training but I'm not sure. If it was you would you get your mare pregnant or trained?

depends how much getting her trained would benefit you! also are you prepared for a foal, my mum said you need to be there all the time and have lots of patience e.t.c teaching them! I cant have a foal because there is no one at home to be with them, but if i were you i would go for foal, it would be an amazing experience and so fun! :D

Thinking practically and pushing the over-population of horses aside for a minute...if you'll be needing to send your mare away for training, how do you expect do cope with a foal where all the training from day one will be on you? (Had a sneaky peak) and noticed your mare's 13 maybe older depending on when you last updated it, she's not old, but she's getting pretty near to the age where there's a higher risk of complications if she's never foaled before. Wouldn't be worth it for me personally, I'd definitely say get her trained!

One of our brood mares had her first foal at 14yrs she foaled in the field with her friends we put the foal in a trailer behind the quad and mare followed up to the yard, she let the foal feed with no help from us..this mare was always unpredictable to ride has a mighty buck but a total natural mother compared too some of the mares we've foaled, on the other hand another of our brood mares had too stay in work while in foal she has lymphangitis needs have exercise, she was ridden up until the middle of December and is still being lunged and lead out...So you have 2 options open too you ..Good luck what ever you choose, foals aren't hard work first 3 yrs of their lives is play it gets serious after that ...

Ok there are a few things i probrably should have said. She is 12, almost 13. she has foaled before. i have another horse to ride. and i have the time, money and patience(at least i hope so) to raise a foal. I have a two year old now and he is spectacular. I have raised him since he was a foal, but i wanted a foal completely of my own. But like JaymeeLS said she may have complications and i would be so worried about her. This is where all my indecision comes from...
