Much-loved rescued pony Buddy will be on hand to greet visitors to HorseWorld’s annual Carol Service and Christmas Fayre on Sunday 4th December. With free entry all day to the charity’s Visitor Centre in Whitchuch (10am till 4pm), this is a lovely way to start the festive season. People will be able to buy Christmas gifts in the Craft Village, Meet Santa in Santa's Grotto, take part in HorseWorld’s Christmas raffle and say “Merry Christmas” to the rescued animals, including formerly-emaciated Buddy. His plight touched the hearts of so many local people that, when he made his first appearances at the Visitor Centre in the summer, over 2,000 people came through HorseWorld’s doors on three days alone to see his progress. “Last Christmas, Buddy was at death’s door,” said Joanne Vaughan, Animal Husbandry Manager. “HorseWorld rescued him from a litter-covered field, and staff worked day and night last winter to help him recover and become stronger. “This Christmas, Buddy is happy and healthy, with a bright future. We’re so pleased to be able to invite Buddy’s well-wishers to help him celebrate his first ‘real’ Christmas.” Community Singing at the popular annual event starts from 2pm and the main service starts from 2.30pm. Money raised at the Carol Service will be used to help to rescue more ponies like Buddy and give them a happier future.
