You are feeling sleepy...you can ride your horse...The idea of hypnotism makes us think of people on a stage being made to do ridiculous things but actually hypnosis used to help us get over fears and phobias is quiet different. This journalist who had developed a fear of getting on her ex-racehorse went to a hypnotist and was soon able to enjoy riding again. Has anyone else ever been to a hypnotist? Did it work for you? Have you ever thought of going? A lot of it is about changing the way you think so can you do it for yourself?

After a very 'silly' incident that happened with my beautiful horse 2 years ago, which did not result in a fall or any injury whatsoever, I managed to 'big' it up in my head into something huge resulting in me almost shaking at the thought of getting back on board. After a year of amazing groundwork, I plucked up the courage to book a rider confidence weekend at Ashen Equestrian in Suffolk and Peter Doherty and Becky Chapman started me on the wonderful journey of my new life with my horse (and many other things in life too inc. flying and even going on a rollercoaster ha ha) all by using hypnosis and NLP and TFT. Tools that I have used many times not only with my riding but also with many other things in life. I will always feel in debt to what Peter achieved. Thanks Pete. My journey didn't stop there. I then started to have 1 to 1 lessons at a BHS riding school on their horses, improving my riding skills and also boosting my confidence in a 'safe' environment. Throughout all this I have had invaluable support from friends and family, but most importantly from a lady who I started talking to through 'Trot On.Com' Chris I couldn't have done any of this without you xxx My message is... don't give up, I am still on my journey and am in no rush to get there and I was amazed at how many others are in the same boat. Stop, take a step back, forget all you have done in the past and go back to basics.... most importantly get to know your horse from the ground and become his friend and vice versa. Enjoy xxxxx
