Only really being an issue the last couple of times I've taken her fly sheet off to groom my mare, it's produced static and every touch caused a shock between us. I'm only worrying about it incase she starts to regard me as an 'evil electric fence'. Anyone know of any ways to get rid of the static? Ps: It was cute at first seeing her tail stand up on end as if someone had rubbed a balloon against it haha!

To be honest grenville barely notices static shocks, i feel it more than he does but i often use a dandy brush first to get rid of the staticness instead of the body brush because the plastic bristles of my dandy brush don't produce the shock it is the soft thin bristles of the body brush that seem to cause it.

Saffie felt one of them, jumped away, but didn't hold it against me. She's quite insecure so I'd rather not chance it. We only use a dandy brush, curry comb and metal curry comb for basic body groom anyway, though I steered clear of the metal one since we were already getting shocks lol. It was definitely her sheet that caused it, but nothing I did seemed to settle it down. Just had to wait it out and got the biggest jolt leaving her stable lmao.
