Well i have just had a letter from my insurer saying they can no longer insure me because basically grenville has developed too many problems and is costing them too much! So i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on good insurers? The company i was with were great they were really quick to pay out and stuff but now i am having to change and i hear people on the yard moaning about insurers all the time so i am cautious to say the least lol... Help?

Jess why don't you try Millins-the ad is on the right, click on it and you'll go through to the blog and find a link to their site where you can get contact details, not sure if the 0800 one works anymore. I was really impressed when I spoke to them and they came highly recommended. I was thinking of changing over to them myself but couldn't last time my policy renewal came up as a claim was still going through. I know a few people have been saying the cost of their policies has really gone up-I think NFU who I am with are one of the biggest price hikers. I liked Millins as they have really flexible policy options and they're experienced equestrians.

Best of luck! One of the questions you always get asked for car insurance is 'have you ever been refused insurance' I don't know if they ask this question, but if they do they will probably either refuse to take you on, or want a ridiculous fee. And if you lie and they find out you won't get paid anyway. Its a night mare! I really hope you find a company. I'm with E & L and I've never had any real problems, but I know they do not have a great reputation.

Thats what im worried about :( i am going to ring around everywhere tomorrow. I know a few people who dont have there horses insured but this is madness to me. They may have horses that are never ill but accidents always happen. I am unlucky in the sense that Grenville is always ill and very accident prone in the field :\ and considering all we do really is light schooling and hack my insurance would be low and he's not a veteran yet. Dammit! Aww well im sure i'll find something (if not he is getting a private flat Paddock where he can't hurt himself lol) but in the mean time he has been warned no problems are allowed and fighting/rough playing is strictly prohibited haha

try Animal Friends Insurance they are very reasonable dont ask ridiculously high prices and the cover is pretty good too. you dont have to pay a deposit if you pay monthly either,we got both our horses and tack etc... insured with them and my horse is classed as a veteran this year as hes 17 but i still got good cover.
