I'm having an OH NOOOOO moment although I must say I'd love to be there with my camera! Miniature horses get plucked, preened and glammed up with eyeliner, glitter gel and patent hooves to strut their stuff in front of the show judges. It sounds like the horsey version of a kids beauty pageant-which is pretty icky but fascinating in equal amounts.

As an owner of a mini I really hate these events. The judges down here don't care much for that crap too. My mare always wins over the judge with her personality NOT glitter.

I own a mini and she'd hate it if I did that to her.. They don't want to be plucked, glittered and glammed up, they want to be loved and this just shows that the owners are doing it for their own enjoyment and success. Doesn't impress me at all I'm afraid! and I agree with dixierider too. |

hey my mini likes that stuff but i just don't do any plucking or eyeliners but she loves her scarfs an water based paint on her hooves. and personality does matter in these shows it takes personality to show off the outfit an its fun for horse an owner plus the hours it takes to get them ready is great for bonding. you just have to be carful to notice wich mini likes it an wich mini hates it so its fun for everybody. |

I have to admit I have eyed up some glitter spray. I wanted to sneak some onto my husbands horse's tail before he goes hunting lol |

haha :) it would look rather cool, i personally think grenville would suit blue streaks in his mane and tail, my friend put some red hair dye on her ponies mane (not much) and now it looks black but is tinted red in sunlight :D it looks very pretty i think :) |
