I for one think this is Possibly the cutest little pony in the world! And hope they can raise the money for all the surgery to change the cuties life so the youngster can have a full life! But what would you do if you were in this owners situation?

This story reminds me of another topic in TRTR How far would you go to save your horse's life. I would like to know what would the cost be to the horse as well as the owner; what are the chances of success, how many operations would be involved, distress etc? Ugh, so hard when you're faced with this little cutie, glad I don't have to make the decision. http://tinyurl.com/68t9j28 |

If it was grenville i would sell everything i own and take out loans and everything else to pay for surgery for him, if i knew there was a chance i could save him, even a small one, i would do it, no matter what the cost. Some things you can't put a price on and my best friend is one of those priceless things :) i think falabellas though (while we are on the subject lol) like other breeds (even in other animals) have been bred to an extent for, if we are blunt, fashion is in my opinion cruel, shetland ponies are small but hardy and rarely suffer deformaties or from dwarfism but falabellas are at risk because of their small, fine boned bodies often with a small neck and large head (which are also features of dwarfism) which probably wouldn't cause serious damage but would be uncomfortable to say the least, but if i was the ponies owner i would do everything i could to save him, but the fact it says 'claimed to be smallest male pony in the world' rings alarm bells because he has been bred to be so so so small that this seems to either be the cause (or a wierd coincidence) that he has the problem in the first place... |
