The Olympic equestrian test event starts this morning at 8.30. In the link, the journalist Pippa Cuckson tells us a bit about what it's about and what has gone in to turning Greenwich Park into an equestrian centre. A lot of people think it's terrible that such a beautiful area should have been built on, incurring huge costs to build it from scratch, when we already have some wonderful eventing venues in easy reach of London that surely could have been easily modified. What do you think? It will be interesting to hear what the riders have to say about it once the test event is over.

Here's Pippa Cuckson's day one report. Piggy French leads after the dressage and the cross country starts today. The setting for the dressage certainly looks impressive.

It'll be nice to see more emphasis put back on to the XC. Would be amazing to ride!

Yes I can see why the riders are excited about being presented with a new challenge but I still think that a lot of money is being wasted on a course and arenas that are going to be dismantled as soon as the event is over.

A huge amount of money!! But also it will be nice for the equestrian to feel like its part of the olympics.
