This is just such a sad story about some horses that were attacked by bees and died. It was very unusual and no-one seems to know why it happened :( http://tinyurl.com/672umr3 |

That is sooo odd... I love bees, i think they are really gentle, i have stood on many bare foot and they haven't stung me... I am glad grenville has his fly sheet :) i think all we can do is try to protect our horses with fly rugs, fly spray etc... |

we had awful trouble with bees for a while that actually started of a terrible leg infection that eventually killed my friends horse :( ther was a bee keepers association based in redhall for a while, and the bee keepers would come and leave and the bees would be very agitated, a swarm attacked 2 girls riding bareback to the field and they had around 30 stings between tham and the horses bolted. one of the bees came up to the yard (about 300m away) and stung zac in the leg, he took an elergic reaction and his entire leg swole up, he recovered after about 2months, but after that anything small made his leg swell againg untill eventually he had to be put down about a year after the sting :( it was awful |

the beekeepers and their bees were kicked out after that because they regularly attacked anyone who rode or walked past, which is definatley not good for a riding school. |
