I have an ADHD, OCD thoroughbred who started out weaving and stall walking, then he started wind sucking, and NOW he's CRIBBING! He's DRIVING ME CRAZY! haha I love the little guy to death but honestly! CALM DOWN! Haha-you can see where he gets his energy from... xD- Anyways, he was recently laid up for a week or two when he threw a shoe and then was running around on it and it made him lame so then I begin to put him back into work and on tuesday(June 21st) I was cleaning out his paddock when I hear a funny noise. He's standing in the corner of his shelter grabbing a support pole and sucking in air. He's Cribbing. So Is there ANYTHING I can do to stop this? He hates toys, he does like his salt lick but he doesn't usually lick it during summer for some reason, and unless I shove a bunch of food in his face he still does it, sometimes even with the hay.... I've tried spraying the pole with No-Chew and I even put soap on it, I put this weird nasty yellow goo used for Equine Injuries that was safe to eat-according to our Tack and Groom shop guy. I know I can use a cribbing collar but I've never used one before, which ones work the best and how should it be properly used?? Thanks!
