EVERYONE i know is going nuts about uggs being cruel cos they are made out of sheep skin. Ok i am veggie and don't like the whole killing animals thing but if you are going to kill it for meat at lease use all of it! Which is what happens with uggs. Now the people calling it cruel aren't vegetarian so i am confused... They think it is ok to kill the animal for the meat and throw away the skin but use the skin as well and its cruel?!?!?! EH?! Don't get it lol what does everyone else think? Oh yeah and PETA is behind it AGAIN hahaha

Nooooo, that is just mental!!! More evidence that Peta are nutty as a nut cutlet lol. And I totally agree with you Jess, if you're going to kill an animal for meat then at least make use of the rest of it. So do these people not wear any leather either? |

I know it is totally maddening, they use grease off the wool in mosturisers, a gravy thing from the left over bit of meat we won't eat for soaps and leater is everywhere, gear sticks in cars, everywhere lol yet everyone is babbling on about killing animals for fashion but its not like that, the skin is a bi product left over after we use the meat which is a good thing but celebs and PETA are making a big thing about sheep being transported inhumanely but that isn't FOR the ugg boots lol that is just factory farming for the meat industry (which is wrong) but even organic farmed animals that go to slaughter have their skin sent to ugg factorys or other factories producing sheep skin rugs etc... I don't like animals being killed but at least none of it is being wasted, if people decided it was sick to kill animals for products we wouldn't wear the likes of duffel coats (the buttons are often made from horn off a dead cattle), wouldn't use bone china tea sets, wash our clothes, wash our hair, wear lip gloss, moisturise... See where i am going? So yeah i am glad you agree haha! When i said PETA should leave racing alone and put effort into a more needing cause i meant horse fighting or dog fighting or some cruel sport not UGG boot cruelty! :P |

But sheep aren't killed to be shaved off... I don't understand. There's a whole farming industry on sheep sheering alone, plus being in countries such as Australia sheep are sheered to HELP the sheep because it just gets WAY too hot for a sheep to cope with such amount of wool... so we're putting the wool to good use rather than dumping it. If sheep aren't sheered (esp. in australia) for summer most people look at the owners and see them as cruel. As for PETA no one wins, they attack anything and everything that could possibly be cruel... |

Bazz yea there is an industry on shearing sheep but PETA are saying that ugg boots are cruel because it is the skin off the sheep and the wool. Not just the wool. Jess I agree, if you kill it make use of all of it. Do not throw it away if there is still a use for it. PETA should die a humble death and make way for organizations that are trying to stop real problems. |
