Have any of you heard of Dr Andrew McLean? He started and manages the Australian Equine Behaviour Centre I've got one of his books which is really good. Well, I just read in H&H today that he's been using his methods to help the working elephants in India, so I thought I'd look into it and found this heartbreaking video. I've always thought elephants are such wonderful animals that I found it really upsetting to discover that they get so badly treated. Thank goodness for people like Dr Andrew McLean and his team who are doing such excellent work.

elephants are one of my favourite animals just after horses. There is something about elephants that seems very human, when i see the programmes on tv of elephants i always cry at how sympathetic they are and how they mourn just like us, they even pay 'respects' to dead elephants they never knew, almost like when we feel sorry for people who we never knew when they die suddenly and it is on the news. They are amazing, also did you know if a elephant with a disability is left behind by its family a group of elephants already with a disabled member will pick up the straggler and help it to survive. How people can abuse such amazing animals i will never understand, also i think it shows just how much better the elephants are compared to the pathetic people because the people needlessly beat the poor animal but the elephant doesn't really attack and to be honest i am glad those 'trainers' die they deserve it for treating a animal in such a way! People should try to act more like animals sometimes, i often think THEY are the civilized ones not us. I love the training towards the end though :) natural horsemanship step aside natural elephantmanship is here :P
