Is in a paddock? has he got paddock mates? Does he get the chance to walk on different terrain? I.e. hills and ditches. He might just need to spend time being a horse and develop them muscles. Esp. if he's in a stable for long periods of times :) |

He is a bit young to do any actual work yet, really - his legs are still developing. A paddock mate to play with would be the best thing, play will give him an all over work-out and when he is tired he will stop, so he won't overstress his growing joints and bones!
As bazz says a field on the side of a hill is absolutely ideal - automatic exercise but not too much.
Any pics?

Hi,
I would ride him often- using trotting and cantering to strengthen his back legs and get him used to working him. Maybe cross country will help as well as there will be rough ground! Keep the supplements coming and good luck! Ella xoxox |
