Hello, I live in a little village so there is one livery yard near us, the others is like half an hour away and I can't expect my mum to drive my there everyday to see my new horse (as I am a teenager) they charge £60 per week so that will be £240 per month. I think that is everything included like feed, bedding, use all of their facilities. What do you think?? I hve found some others for like £30 per month but they are like 30 mins away (as I have said). Help mee!!! http://Www |

maybe if you go to that yard closest to you then you could ask to do jobs around the yard and things like that to help pay for part of the board of your horse.......that will also help you with taking care of your own horse and stuff.........just an idea :P |

It depends DIY livery is cheaper than full livery and field livery is cheeper still, i pay about £200 a month on DIY livery in winter and about £87 in summer per month (i use little or no hay and straw) but you also pay for facilities, my yard is one of the expensive ones in the area but it has HUGE turnout fields, 1 60X80m indoor school, 2 outdoor arenas one is 60X40m and the other is 40X20m, 2 lunge pens and a XC course |

Hi Minki31, is that DIY livery-so you muck out your horses stable, muck the fields, turn out and bring in your own horse etc? What facilities do they have? Will the livery charge go up in the winter? |

Yes it is D.I.Y and the facilities are-
25x50m flood lit arena
all year round turnout
450 acres of off road hacking
large, light, airy stables (12)
secure, alarmed tack room
owner/manager living on site
horse wash room with hot and cold water
clipping box
trailer/horse box parking
toilet and shower
professional dressage teacher on site.
I don't know If they charge diffrent in the summer and winter, she only said it is £60 per week, I think that may include bedding and feed. I'm not 100% sure Thankyou :) |

In the winter i pay £90! a week (price has just gone up to this :S) for a stable, hay , winter grazzing, 7 morning and evening feeds , bring in and turn out , rug changes and reegulare checks on her during the day and poo picking nad mucking out. so yours sounds very good even though its DIY, What you would be paying near you is what i used to be charged when i was on DIY x |

I have a livery yard, and I charge £30.00 a week for stable and paddock. £5.00 a day for mucking out, turning out, and bringing in. All of my owners at the moment are DIY but if they need help they know it is there for the £5.00. Hay and bedding is extra and each has their own storage space. Lorry and trailer parking is included we have a 60X30 flood lit school. Good hacking out but no other facilities. I don.t know where you live but I would have no customers if I tried to charge £60.00 a week. I have ten stables so am small but always full. http://www.grovefarmliverystables.co.uk |
