Read about a popstar who's got a lashing from the animal rights brigade because horses have been painted pink for her latest video. Then tell me what you think!! http://theclotheshorse-trotontv.blogspot.com/2011/05/horses-also-come-inpink.html |

I think its cruel to force a poor defenceless horse to go out in public looking like that! As for the paint itself, as said in the blog, horses are often painted for educational purposes. There is even a photo in the trot on header of a horse with a skeleton painted on it.... |

It may not always affect them health-wise but i really think morally its not right to do that!
For education, yeah fair enough, but for some pop-star to try and outdo other music videos? I think thats going a bit far. |

haha poor horses! especially if a gelding had it done, it will definately be getting bullied by all the other horses especially now that the photos are on the internet! haha nah i dont really see a problem each to their own, and if its not harming the horses PETA cant really complain |

I have a water base paint that I've done my horse. He's an appaloosa and I'll put my hand print on him or a thunder bolt. I like to get a tan or change my make up so why not him.

I would say it depends on the horse and their attitude, as well as the type of paint. If the horse gets very distressed by it, it's not fair. If the paint causes discomfort it also is not right. In terms of cruelty to horses I wouldn't have said it comes up there at the top, I mean there are many training aids/items of tack that are regularly mis-used causing severe pain and discomfort. Who knows maybe there is a market for horse paint?! My personal opinion though is it looks fine for educational demos but looks ridiculous to paint your horse pink for fashion! Didn't the Native Indians paint their horses? |

Hehe i feel bad now for wanting to make grenville into a zebra xD im still going to do it though lol he will probably enjoy it, he loves being groomed and fussed and would stand for hours when being plaited up etc, i would make sure the paint was safe and easily washable before i did it though |

We painted my friends grey horse into a zebra. He didn't mind. What about the amount of makeup that show riders put on. It's the exact same thing. People dye their horses to give them more intense colours. |
