We all have probably gone through something in our lives that makes us turn to our horses for comfort, strength, and love. I'm only sixteen, and I've done it on two occasions. Once when my old barrel racer Rita died. And another when my present horse was taken away from me, abused, then sent back. I think i relied on him more than he relied on me.

I've always thought that horses are highly attuned to our emotions. My girl can pick me up when I'm down and lend me a shoulder when I need to cry. Oddly enough on the few times I've been seriously ill I've found that going and seeing her can help me to recover.

I do, my old mare may be a stubborn shit with tons of attitude but she is always there when I need her without judgement. She has helped me through some very tough times and some sever depression. Its true, horses are very therapeutic and there is no one I count on more than Coco.

I did it first when i was assaulted, grenville litterally defended me and stopped things taking a disgusting turn, he also comforted me afterward, he also has been my rock while my mum has been seriously ill this year, he was also there for me when i was diagnosed with serious PCOS when i was 15 and told it was unlikely i will be able to have children. We have been there for each other alot but he has been there for me more than any person has and i really appreciate him for that. We have a unbelievable bond that even other yard members are dumbstruck by, i truely believe he loves me and that is something i have never know a horse to feel toward me before, holly the pony i used to ride and looked after liked me alot but i don't think she LOVED me. Thank you grenville! lol :)

In my life, I've always had Cody. She truly is a dream horse. I could go out for hours talking to her, singing down the trail, and she even liked listening to my Ipod! When my brothers dog died (I was terribly sad) Cody was my comfort. She always had been. Do you know how amazing it is, to just sit on her bareback for hours as she eats grass in the field? And when you start crying, she lifts up her head and nuzzles you? It's so amazing to feel loved, especially by something that doesn't even speak your own language. I love you Cody...

I believe horses do understand us as they understand voice commands and know what we ask them to do there has been times where when my Dad left Amber was there for me just nuzzelling me and rubbing her head against me to make me laugh and she is very docile but the one time my friends horse tried to attach me in the field Amber reared up and tried her best to scare Jazz(the horse) away she is my rock and i owe everything to her even my sucsesses i love her

My horse means everything to me, when i have had operations on my ankle he was there for me, i sat with him for hours in the field every day whilst me family were at work. When i was in a lot of pain and couldnt stand up by myself he would put his head into my lap and lift it up slowly for me to hold onto and suppot myself on. I can sit on him bareback and talk to him about anything and he will always make me feel better no matter what is upsetting me. If any of the other horses try and kick me he will stand in the way until they have stopped (:

All my friends have lately been saying i need a boyfriend (Valentines Day) but i tell them I already have a man in my life :) and i do. He may not have arms but his hugs are the best. When I'm down i just go out there and he is there to cry on. When im happy he is a monster and love to play and tease. He knows my moods and knows how to help :)and the same thing as SassyGirl. When I'm sick i always go outside and i come back in better than before :) horses cure things.
