I have recently read the book - Amys Journal - from the heartland series (based on true story) and in there it includes different techniques that are used at the ranch where she helps rehabilitate abused, distressed and horses with bad behavioural problems. In the book shes also included different horse remedies and i wanted to know whether anyone has heard, tried and tested these remedies!
1- Coat Shine: add 125ml of cider vinegar to rinsing water after bathing your horse. 2- cold tea for sweet itch: add 500ml of water to four teabags, leave for 5mins and remove teabags. When tea is cold apply to horses neck mane and tail. 3- HONEY: for excitable horses/re energising lazy horses. Has a balancing effect. Add a tablespoon of clear honey to horses feed and wait to see if any difference.
These are my free favs which would love to know if have been tried! and also if anyone has any others that they have heard of would love to know about !! :) |

Is this related to the heartland books? I love heartland books. There is also a root of a tree (name escapes me) that is a natural painkiller. |
