Hiya! My name is Brooke. I love horses so much! I ride at a barn about 35 mins away and that is one of the closest from from where I live. The barn itself is nice, but IDK if it is THE one for me. before I list my complaints let me tell a story about why I might b thinking about changing: About 2 or 3 weeks ago I fell after a jump. and for some reason, this REALLY stirred me up! I LOVE to jump!!! Really! I could jump miles high for hours!! But even before I fell off that jump, I felt nervous about it! Just when my instructor said "Ok guys line up and do that jump", I was nervous just looking at it. So I went for some extra training where your instructor is with you, but you can do whatever you want to do instead of her telling you what to do, but if you need help she is there for you. So I went to try the jump again before we had to do it manditorially during the lesson. so i did went and to it and When I went to practice the jump, i freaked out and could only get up enough courage to do the little X'. here are some other bad things: 1. Im looking for a lease horse, and the barn I ride at dosent lease 2. they do not do shows, which I am very interested in 3. I want to find a new instructor 4. I do not like the fact that we ONLY ride indoors. I know I sound picky and I'm sorry for that. my current barn is one of the only ones near me but not THE only one but it is the cheapest and closest.

When you learn at a riding school you mostly stay indoors. the good thing is you need the school horses because your confidence has been knocked and they are great confidence givers. if you are really wanting to change and want a lease you will probably end up on a livery yard. its a big commitment and you would need something bombproof and calm to boost your confidence and to show you a fun way to ride outdoors because its a lot different from schooling. also lessons will probably be more expensive and your best bet would be private lessons from a freelance instructor. you should take time in making the decision and weigh up the pros and cons with both choices and decide which is the best decision for you. good luck
