The horse who is at livery with me has had filled hind legs from hock down since Saturday. He is 18, has arthritis in front, and has recovered from laminitis a few months ago. He is perfectly well in himself. He has been stabled at night for the last week, both horses have had a few days of runny poo, but both cleared up now. He is fed Hi Fi lite, is on grass during day and has hay/straw mix at night. He has been wormed with Equitape on Friday, legs came up Saturday, The other change in regime has been giving him probiotic since runny poo, and as has been couple of frosts, as he has had colic in past. Last night cold hosed and bandaged legs - one fell off, that one puffy, other ok.
His owner is worried that may be heart related? Planning to get the vet out if not resolving in next few days, but would be grateful for any thoughts/advice |
