Yes try to find a safe horse that knows their way around a course to learn on to get your confidence up. I left off jumping for 6 month after i bought my horse after i lost interest then i realised i had lost my confidence for no reason so i saddled my horse up and we jumped and jumped and jumped. I love it now so all i can say is find a horse that will find it fun to teach you as much as you will find the horse fun to learn on :)

hiya, i have a lovely completely honest share who is an ex affiliated sj. he adores jumping and i love it too but i have some problems with confidence. he sometimes tries to refuse and i am always worried that if i make him jump it when he is trying to refuse it might go wrong and i may end up on the floor. i have only been sharing him for about 3 weeks so its probably that i dont trust in him completely, is there anything i can do to improve my confidence meanwhile gaining trust?

i would start with smaller jumps and build them up through out the week or some time legnth. it will take him back to basics and learn not to efuse and be not to be scared of the jump and also will help him trust you take him over each jump even when small.
