So, I found fluid build up on my horses hock, but it doesnt seem to effect him at all, then we noticed he was limping on his front left leg, and today when i lounged him to see how his leg was doing, he was good! As i was putting polos on, he started acting funny with his right leg(i wasnt pulling polos or anything!) and i noticed him really limping with his right leg. And he had heat like from undear his knee to all the way down to the pastern(i believe thats what its called). What should i do?
The people at the barn said to walk him a lot, and to sponge with hot water and epsom salt. Im calling the vet tomorrow, but i wanted to try this first!
thanks to anyone that responds! |

I didnt call him. his hock is getting better, the one girl there her horse had the exact same fluid build up, and all he needs is alot of walking, and epsom salt with hot water and sponge it. And i figured out why my boy was limping, he knocked his bakc hoof on his frotn ankle and had a cut and it swelled up but now he is fine and im cleaning his cut! :)
so everything is great! |
