well here are some things i learned when training a horse not to be afraid of lets say like -water -certin poles(cause of their color) i say start of slowly, walk around with him around things you want him to get used to etc NEVER let him turn his back to it. He will think he got away with it. thats just something i know and hope it works out!

So you are saying to start at a certain speed and get faster each time

No she means start off at a low level. If you are training a horse to jump you start with a pole on the floor. If you are backing a horse you start with a saddle and long line them. Speed isn't anything to do with training really because you don't train a horse how to walk, trot or canter they know that as foals we just teach the aids.

My advice would be - join up really does work. ignore bad behaviour and praise good behaviour :) trotting poles, grids, lateral movements areall good!

Stay calm, think calm, be calm! Don't shout, just be chilled. Just remember, each horse is different to the next and the last.. Spend some time getting to know each horse on groundwork before you ride. I always say the key to the training is routed in the groundwork. You listen to what that horse tells you, not what you want to tell the horse and then everything should be fine. Its not the training tecniques, you just have to understand the horse.

Training a horse and connecting with them is amazing. So, really take the time and enjoy it. When training work alot on groundwork such as leading, tieing, lunging, bending, backing up. Horses need groundwork there whole lives. Its just something you half to do day in and day out. Secondly, don't rush in to things it can lead to big problems. Make sure your cues are clear and understandable. Don't give him to many all at once. Take your time grooming. NO means NO. Don't let a horse get away with bad behaver. It leads to problems. Correct the award. When saddleing and things like that. Make sure you can control your horse on the ground first. If you can't there most likely your not gonna be able to under saddle. It's young horse so don't ride him hours and hours on end. Ride for about 30 mins a day. Otherwise they can get borad and upset.
