my horse loves jumping in the woods. when i take him outon our homemade xcountry course he actually jumps! he loves it. but when i set up jumps in the ring, he could care less. he'll just trot over them. any ideas on how to get him interested? |

try putting cross country style jumps in the ring? gridwork is good fun too, and you could have some mock jump offs |

Try jazzing up your jumping practice by jumping an interesting course. Include rollbacks, jumping on angles, spreads, and combinations. Jumping with a friend or two can make things more interesting for both your horse and you. Bringing in some bushes, flower boxes can make the jumps more outdoorsy. Putting horse blankets or tarps over jumps can make them more challenging for the horse too. |
