I just wondered how all the parents out there get the balance between their children and their horse? I don't currently have my own horse, but ride 3x a week. I would if I could ride everyday but this is impractical in terms of childcare and that I work during the day in the week. I always seem to feel guilty about going riding though, this is admittedly short lived once I'm at the yard! I would be interested what everyone else's views/ experiences are?

i struggle with that sometimes. i got my daughter into riding too which was great she does the jumping i do the ground work and preparation for shows i am like her groom lol. my son does not however like horses. well from a distance maybe but not enough to join in. i ride mainly in the week when he is at school and get friends kids to ride with me at weekends to help not to drag it out too much. my daughter is now at uni so can't help anymore. ask me again mid winter and i might be struggling
