Check out this new Fall Training Simulator the Equichute which has just started to throw off jockeys at the British Racing School in Newmarket. I think it's a great idea and want to ask them if they'd let riders from outside the racing industry use it :) Mmm was just wondering if there's a point where jump jockeys might wear a version of the pt2 air jacket??? Bet they wouldn't!!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-11218239 |

I believe they already are wearing those jackets that inflate on impact. |

I did get in touch with them and ask if it will be available for non-race rider tuition and they said they were planning to do that in the future :D I know from falling off a few motorbikes that it's best to relax and don't try and put an arm out to break your fall, keep limbs in close. For riding they also recommend you don't hold onto the reins as you can dislocate your arm but of course when you're hacking your worst fear is your horse galloping off and being hit by a car so that's a difficult one :( |
