So I know some other people have probaly posted this same question but oh well- My horse is buddy sour. Thats not all of it... I went on a horse camping trip with a friend and her horse and my horse - Casey- has always wanted to stick with other horses- like most- but this time it got extreme. I always you know make sure shes listening- stopping, standing quietly , backing, etc. and this time she was jigging a bit cuz of the other horse was a fast walker and Casey was a slow walker... And so I told her to stop and she fought the bit and was throwing up her head prancing circling etc. doing everything but listening (and before I stopped her I tried to get her to walk not jig so I asked her to stand) and then he got more ahead and she finally relaxed, So told her she was good petted her and we walked on and she jigged again I asked her to walk and she reared. And she reared again about 30 min later... And YES im having a trainer out- I just wondering if you have any tips for the mean time... Any tips appreciated and will be tried =) ~Wisper~ Oh ask if you have more questions.... Oh ya and I didnt just let her get away with rearing =D So its hopefully not really like she though ergh im angry first time and then like I AM ANGRY AND I GOT AWAY WITH IT LAST TIME! And yes shes half arab...

sounds to me as though you may have a relationship problem. your horse isnt buddy sour she is buddy sweet. she needs a leader and is looking to other horses to fulfil that role, when you are out together your horse may need to see you as her leader, but isnt doing so.have you tried doing some ground work ?when your horse reared she is shouting at you. she has tried talking but have you listened ?rearing as you know is very dangerous so in my humble opinion and if i were you, i wouldnt fork a leg over her until you have got the trainer to help you.

Actually a few days ago my trainer came and we worked on seperating horses and my horse tried to trot once and i brought her back to a walk for a little and calmly trotted up back to horses and she was fine! So I am not sure why that happened... Both times she was at places she didnt know... Well the on she did good on was about as wide as a single lane road and the other was about 3 ft wide?! And a lot of horses are a little claustrophobic ..... and she is a little

do you think that maybe she was nervous about new surroundings? that would explain why she would want to be with "the herd" rather than on her own. you could try taking her to new places without other horses so that she cant go to the herd and has to rely on you when she gets scared. just a thought :)

I usually actually dont ride with other horses... I used to only ride with them 2 days a week... Maybe she is excited to see them and wants to be with the?? However why would she do that now intstead of earlier?! Plus I have ridden her with other horses like that for around 2 months almost every time I rode so ya!

A horse my friend used to have was like this, one day she was really good next day she would jig jog and rear when pulled back so we used to give her magic calmer and it worked great :)

is she in season? some mares act loopy when they are in season. maybe she fancies one of the other horses. one of our mares gets very excitable when in season especialy after she had her foal haha
