My confidence is at its lowest at the moment, my instructor (WHICH IS MY FRIEND) Is scary when she is mad or impasiont with me. Im only still a begginner and she treats me like im in the olympics she says i have to get everything right and if i make one small mistake BOOM let the yelling begin. One day i was brushing my horse and she said to do the face. AS everyone knows who is friends with me at school i am very forgetful. So i forgot to brush her face then my instructor said why didnt u brush here face, i was about to say sorry i forgot, but then SHE said oh no it doesnt matta its the horse who has to SUFFER, i nearly bearst into tears from her saying that, i mounted and since i keep putting my feet forward to much (just a habit of mine that will fix over time) she yells at me saying i look like a complete retard when my feet are like that. I just trotted really fast away from her. And in my lessons i fear if she is going to be mean to me or not, and it shouldnt be like that, i just dont know how to break it to her that i dont want her to be my instructor anymore someone plz give me some advice im begging u plzzzzzzz im only young and she makes me feel sad and angry and makes me feel like a complete idiot when im riding plz any one help me! |

wow she is mean, why dont you speak to your mum or the yard owner and they might be able to help you out!, my instructor is so mean, my new horse is lazy, so when you stop her she takes ages to walk on...so their i am kicking, squeezing and using my seat and voice but no she wont go so i give her a slap on the neck, she doesnt walk on, give her a slap on the bum, doesnt walk on, so then my instructor comes and says "make her walk on" im like i am trying to! so then she gets the whip of me and slaps my horse on the bum, she bucks, rears leaving me on her neck and my instructor whips her again when she is walking and she bucks, leaps, rears and rams me into the fence, nearly braking my arm and then she says "make her trot on" , cause of the pain (you might have been in this situation were you fall of a nd it realy hurts and you start crying) so yeah i start crying and she goes make her trot on and starts yelling at me, im not an expert but in my opinion you shouldnt ask anyone to do anythink their not right to do, so i couldnt exactly trot her on with nearly a broken arm and me crying could i, she also interfears, always tells me what to do with my own horse which is realy annoying! please help!¬

thats actually really good advice thx but i cant bear just telling the yard manager because the instructor is the daughter of the yard manager it makes it so hard for me, and i hope ur arm is ok cause that must of really hurt and if she does that u could even sue her for trying to make the horse do that. I am dredding to go back and have my lesson. But i have a way out of this from ur advice so thx. What im gunna do is ask my mum to say to the yard manager to have a new instructor because the girl is to young and only does beginners. so i hope they give me a new instr4uctor because im learning how to canter on saturday and im scared as hell!!!!! |

Well i think that u should do the same as me ask the yard manager to change the instructor if she is like that to u. And to all the instructors out there they should realise that begginners are begginners they dont know all the tips and trciks of horse riding yet so give them a chance to learn in a safe and fun way and not yell at them and whip their horse! |

If your instructors are horrible to you. You should leave and go and find another place to get lessons. And as for the instructor hitting your horse to make them move they have know right o do that to your horse. Its a safety hazzard let alone they wouldnt like it if someone did that to their horse. When your looking for a new instructor their numberone priorety should be saftely i should know im training to become an instructor. |
