Ok when you jump you need to keep your reins the same length but give with your hands a little bit on take off but by the time you land you should have a solid contact again. Also in the picture you are coming too far forward in the saddle as though you are in front of the movement, try not to stand out of your stirrups and lean forward but instead move with your horse pushing you hands forward slightly and moving with your hands, forward not upward. Also try to keep contact (even if very light) between you and your saddle as you need to be sat deep intop the saddle just before you land and on landing you need to sit up, collect your horse and push on again. It is something that comes with practice and most of us learn the hard way (by falling off countless times haha) x |

i will agree there at that height you don't even need to get out of the saddle, move forward from your hips, and instead of throwing your reins you let your horse take them, and that horse will, she has a lovely shape and really stretches her neck.. on your landing think forward, if she stops as soon as she stops go again, dont think about anything as soon a she feels she is about to stop keep her going.. hope something in there actually made sense, its much easier to watch and help then just a piccy... do you have jumping instruction or even just a fairly experienced show jumping friend.. |

For the size of the jump you have pretty much got your position spot on, the only thing is you lower leg looks to have swung back a little bit (whether it is angle i don't know). My instructor used to stand at the side of a jump and bark out things like "keep that lowwer leg still, let your hands soften, blah blah blah" lol but god it helped! I was always taught keep your legs in the same posistion and move from the hip upwards so you are ready to use your legs again when you land :) |
