Hi Kate
I'm not into injecting joints - it's a slippery slope that once you start you're committed to keep going with. I prefer supplements and I tend to favour herbal ones as they are a form the horse can absorb better. I usually recommend Global Herbs. Otherwise there are homeopathic options. It might not come to anything and your vet might be being overly cautious. Best wishes HorseVet http://www.naturalhealingsolutions.co.uk |

May want to try keeping her moving but stay away from jumping or pushing her too hard (weight gain from not working would be bad...so if working less...feed less)...it is just like with people...the ones that were more brutal on their bodies when they were younger (in rougher sports) will be feeling it when they get older (sooner) and genetically it may be more prominent in certain horses over others. The natural supplements like the vet mentioned are a good idea...ie.chondroitin, glucosomine are a couple...good luck. |
