Clinton Anderson is an Aussie who is very down to earth and 'natural' in his training methods. He's quite young in comparison to other 'natural horsemanship' trainers, but is very good at what he does. He does the 'no worries training for you and your horse.' His website is www.downunderhorsemanship.com
I first heard about him about 3 years ago when i was training in USA. He's really big over there. He is from Australia but travels the world training. Worth checking out his website. Out of all the natural horsemanship trainers i think i like his work the best, although i try to take little bits from everyone.

I wonder if any others of you out there have had experience working with someone who trains the natural way. It would be great to hear about it.
I was so moved when I first read Monty Roberts book and knew that this had to be the way forward. What a wide influence he has had since then.
So do share your experiences. We could all learn from them.

I have a friend who worked for years with a horse healer and also with a horse ostoepath. From this experience she developed her own method of touch to get in contact with her horses and also to treat them. No formal training.. just observation and intuition. The horses respond quickly to this as if they are saying 'At last someone know how to speak to us.' It makes me realise we probably all have a natural empathy with horses if we get out of our heads and trust them and ourselves. It's a very rewarding side of horsemanship and so good to think it is becoming more and more widespread.

just read a good book about communicating with horses. it was written by Anna Clemmence Mews and Julie Dicker could this be who your friend worked with. i found the book very interesting, one part was about a horse who always hacked out without any problems then for some reason he began to shy and spook , his owner called in Julie to find out what was wrong. The horse told julie that his owner had begun to hack out with her friend and they were chatting all the time. The horse wasnt getting any attention unless he spooked. when Julie told the owner what the horse had said she still went out with her friend but didnt chat as much, the owner rang Julie to say that the horse was back to his old self and the spooking had stopped,Food for thought for all of us. if you get chance read the book therte are lots of interesting stories in it.
