I work part time in a book shop and i must say there is so much more horsey books for children of most ages these days! The heartland series (lauren brooke?)have been around for years and are a classic, as are the "horses of half moon ranch sereis by jenny oldfield ( Adored those as a kid!) and sandy lane stables. Now there are those titles as well as other titles, some I have seen in work were perfect ponies sereies, Mustang mountain series, Pony club secrets series, Chestnut hill sereis (also by L.Brookes) , my magical ponies, dreamseeker, My secret unicorn sereis. And that is just to name a few! theres all these books filled with horse stories, books on how to, books on starting riding and riding, breeds, care, so on! I think its wonderful though for all the kids who can only spend the one Saturday a week in the stables they can still immerse themselves in a world of horses at home now.
