Well I'd say choose a goal that's realistically within your reach, but as my own personal goal is to become a horse owner again after a good few years without, I am probably not the best advocate of my own advice!

Choose a goal that is possible to achieve, and break it down in to steps if you can. I tend to write my goals down, and often draw them too so that I can get both sides of my brain involved in achieving them!

A new year ahead is full of exciting possibilities , a fresh start to all our goals & dreams .It is essential to write them down & keep updating , a goal unachieved is not lost & can be restarted at any time but a new year is always a great time to restart any goal.Try to set a short term goal easily achievable to encourage you to do it , a mid term & slightly more challenging goal next & a long term & harder one to finish.Remember ; Shoot for eagle , you may bag pheasant but you won't end up eating crow!

Yes I would agree with Gallante, you need to have realistic, achievable mini goals leading on to bigger goals. So that you stay motivated and focussed and don't give up. Remember to reward yourself for each mini goal achieved. Also, by being specific about your goals you can think about what it is you want to achieve, why you want this, when you want to achieve your goal by (timescale) and how you are going to achieve it. The good news is, once we have a dream/goal subconsciously our minds will start to organise our subconscious behaviour to try and attain it.

hello, a list is a great idea, i've done them myself in the past, the secret is to keep the goals small, but keep the list long, every time a goal is achieved, put a tick, and move onto the next, but always reward yourself with each one you achieve, keep believing in yourself, if we fail, then lets remind ourselves that failing is our ali not our enemy, it can be used to look at what point we missed in our first attempt and take that information into our next attempt as our advisor. enjoy the journey, i'm a nervous rider and the fact is made more difficult in that i don't own my own horse to keep riding on, nonetheless, i'll keep going as and when i can and any tips would be gratefully received. thankyou deneaze

I think I will definitely break down my goals and put a date on some of the stages that lead to it so I'm really focused, rather than think I've got a year to do it which tends to lead to me putting things off and then hey presto it's the end of the year!!
