My boy knows what hoof I'm about to do next as I always do them int he same order so as soon as he puts down one he is picking up the next one ready for me. when I first got him he would stomp his hooves back down and lean on me, think it was due to his hooves only being picked out for the farrier every 8 weeks! So then getting it done nearly everyday was a bit of a shock to the system, I leant on his side to get him to lighten the weight on that hoof and then pick it up and not allow him to lean as soon as he did I would lean on him again. He soon realised it was much easier keeping the weight off it while I was picking it out:)
