I was lungeing my horse this morning when suddenly one of his hind fetlocks seemed to lock up, he nearly went down, hopped on 3 legs for a few strides, then seemed ok afterwards - any thoughts? I'm hoping it was one off, but glad I wasn't riding him, it could have been nasty.

Hi jaykay, my horse once had an accident where he stepped on a nail. Now he is very sensitive if he steps on anything will hop and hold his leg up until I've looked and told him it's fine! Was there something he could have stepped on like a stone or dodgy bit of ground that made him think he had hurt himself as it seems strange (but good) that he was ok straight after?

Thank you, it's possible, and I did also think that he may have just caught himself on the coronary band with the other foot, as he does tend to brush a bit low down behind. I am probably just panicking as usual!
