The short listed finalists for the inaugural RoR Heart Awards were announced today following the first round of judging by the RoR for which over 400 nominations from owners of ex-racehorses were received. Fans will now have the chance to decide the winners of each of the four RoR Heart Awards by voting online for their favourites. The results will be announced on July 5th. The 28 ex-racehorses from across the UK that have made the final shortlist will also be eligible for a special award, the RoR Heart Award. This additional award will be judged by international best selling novelist Jilly Cooper, who will choose her overall favourite horse and present in person the trophy to the winner. Di Arbuthnot, Director of Operations at the RoR, said; “We have all thoroughly enjoyed reading some incredibly moving stories and well loved horses.
