If you live in the UK you can't have failed to have noticed the heated debate over two presenter's, Andy Gray and Richard Keys, being sacked by Sky Sports for sexist remarks about a female linesmen in a football game recently. Anyway whether you did or you didn't it's still worth reading this excellent piece by Simon Barnes about why they'd be kicked into touch by equestrians :D Let me know what you think. http://tinyurl.com/4rnc5fq |

Haha, the writer is right in what he is saying! I bet Andy Grey and Richard Keys would hate a girl beating them at anything! Maby they should get on a horse and try it, then they will know what girls are made of! |

Yes I reckon most horsey women would make mincemeat of those two presenters. I think the only branch of equestrian sport which is male dominated is racing but I'm sure that will change. And are there mixed teams in polo? By the way if you liked the Simon Barnes article then read this piece he gave to trotontv from his book 'The Horsey Life.' http://www.trotontv.com/tv/showfeature/1/The-Horsey-Life-by-Simon-Barnes |

Ha ha that article is fantastic, love the way it is written. Have to say I am all up for a bit of banter between sexes, blonde jokes etc. But, that was rubbish to put down someone who is extremely good at their job and obviously has the balls to do something they love in a male dominated role. They just made themselves look like absolute idiots! Completely agree with Kibby's thoughts on it! |

oh wow! loved the article!I think women are so much better with horsey sports is because most men just don't have the patience. Women, I believe, are more understanding and can really create a bond with the horses. Which we all know is very important in equistrainism. |

I'm probably a quite sexist, there was nothing up with the comments the men made, all blown out of context. Two men in a male dominated sport having a winge, unfortunatly with the microphone still on. Bet the women in football, check the fit men out and winge about them. As itt happens the woman manager was not fussed by the comments! Yes in most equestrian sports women and men are equal, they will never be equal numbers in racing, it takes a special woman with grit determination and thick skin, with the strengh of a man to break in there. There are many articles (one in horse and hound not so long back) about a lady jockey asking why she did not go professional when she is clearly very good at what she does. We are just not physically built to do some things on an even level with men, and likewise they can not do somethings women can do! We are just different from each other biologically, our ribs, pelvis, hips, areas where fat sits, skin, hair coverage etc etc. |

Speak for yourself Farasi fat doesn't sit on my pelvis or hip's or anywhere else for that matter and I consider myself far superior to a man in this horsey world all be it in racing, pleasure and definately in stud management... |
