did you have any studs in?
if he slipped he will probably have upset himself and therefore didnt feel confident jumping round incase he slipped again. i never jump on grass without studs no matter how small or big a course i'm jumping is. i would recommend studs and if you did have them already make sure you have the right type and big enough ones :) |

its the risk you take i guess. but having had a fall because of a pony slipping due to not enough studs its something i always have in. and to be fair you never see professionals without them. alot of people dont put them in. but it sounds to me that if he slipped before a fence then thats why he jumped the rest of the round like he did cos he was uncertain on his feet afterwards :) |

i don't think many people here use them as much.. but our ground is very different to yours, a bit harder and always much dryer.. i was going to get a set but it just didn't happen. maybe next time the horse gets shod.. |

studs wouldnt be an option really...he hates getting shod, we manage to get front shoes on but no back shoes (our farrier values his life lol) so studs would only be on the front and he probably wouldnt stand very long to get them on =/ thanks for the suggestion though. |
