Don't know what to make of this- would have thought only a rabid fox could do this- & to TWO of them? Not 9 days old, 9 months- almost toddlers?

Probably more due to the fact that we now put all food scraps in those brown bins. It was in a city (can just see the red coats jumping in and out of back yards), and with the recycling rules it has been well reported that cats are being taken by starving rats, so I guess it was only a matter of time before foxes were pushed to desperation where their numbers are the greatest and they live in very close proximity to humans so they don't share the fear their countryside cousins have of us...they've become desensitized.

Does seem to have opened a can of worms. It is horrific and I hope the babies make a quick and full recovery. It just seems really odd to me that a fox would go in the house and upstairs to the babies cots. But then I do not live with urban foxes. I don't think you can blame a wild animal though, it was their habitat that is now in the suburbs and people feeding them encouraging them to be tame etc. Forgetting that they are wild animals. Seems like a freak accident I would never have thought a fox would have the confidence/mentality to do this. Also, what happened to the fox? If I saw a fox attacking my child I sure as hell wouldn't 'shew' it out the house.

Yes I agree it would pay if it was in my childs room. Apparantly they have set "humane" traps in the garden and have so far caught and shot 3 foxes
