Grenville has been going lame in the same leg on and off for about 2 months now, especially when the ground is hard as he doesn't show it as much or at all in the school or on the beach and he has breaks when he is fine on the road. The farrier could find nothing wrong with his leg or hoof, i am reluctant to call the vet incase he is not lame when the vet comes or for the money as we still owe over £1000 from last vet trip, any ideas what it could be? |

hi jess, hoe old is Grenville.? it does sound like athritis, my old mare got in in her knee & would be lame one day then not the next, after a while her knee use to give way which was nerve racking, bute helped a bit then I put her on equine america cortiflex, the improvment was amazing & she came off bute, she was sound for the rest of her life.

we have our horses on this amazing supplement does wonders for arthritis and pretty much any other related leg injury called techniflex.. it is rather expensive but it evens out in the end to other suppliments as you use so little of it..

Have you tried a calcium suplement? Calsorb is one that comes to mind. Great for mysterious lameness. |

2 weeks since injection and grenville is completely sound! Took him out today for first time cos he had a bruised sole but he is full of energy and seems to be a lot happier. He was falling short now his movement is very fluid. So if anyone is thinking of using tildren it seems to have worked! :D |
