Hi I was told by a Showjumping Trainer to affiliate. I would love to but I'm not sure where to start!!!any information you could give me would be hugley appreciated, is there anything I should know? Should I register my horse or become a member myself? Its very confusing.. :( Is it very diffrent to unaffiliated or just a higher standard? ( I have done lots of unaffiliated but would love to go the level higher)Thank you Zoe xx

i've just started affiliated, but im not a member and my horse isn't registered. so im just riding on a ticket when i go to shows. it's not that different from unaffiliated, the jumps will probably be the same spookiness depending on which center you go to. i dont think its a higher standard, you can go there with no training and it wouldn't matter. hope this helps :S :)) xx

i think you can ride on a ticket at any center i think :S. some places may have quite spooky fences so you may want to look on the internet at the showjumps e.g on youtube at the place before going :) thats what i do. xxx

Juust thought i would let you no, if you got a younger horse you can actually find a decent one. My 4yo is not hard to control in any way, shes not fast or fizzy and has never refused a jump

Hi, here's a link to the British Show Jumping website page which tells you how to join and it says there are some offers on which is always good! showjumper-that's a great idea to have a look on youtube because you're right the jumps do really vary from venue to venue. I went somewhere for a clear round the other day and I got there and went Aghhh-the jumps were huge and really smart with scary fillers etc. Luckily they put them down a bit for me and it was a good schooling session. When I used to go affiliated they had a clear round just before British Novice? Does this happen at every venue?
