Before I ride I always go to my horse's stable about 10mins before the lesson to watch the horse, I go it and tap its hind gentally with my finger tips and watch its reaction, I pick up its legs to study to movement and its contact obiedience then hold out my hand to its head to see what it does (if it moves away or is cautious thats how it'll be and if it tries to eat or licks it a lot theyre lively etc) then look at the head and ears for if the ears are very upright and always move it is full of energy and if back of look lazy then they are angry and lazy.
When I mount up I give it a little squeeze and biuld up the preasure, if it is moving too lazily for my liing i will give a little tap but don't let it go any faster just to lliven up the stride but, if the horse mibehaves I have none of it! I'm not cruel, I just take no nonsense!! |
