In my constant search for a good saddle I thought I'd ask other members which saddle you use and why you like it. How does your horse go in it? What's it like to ride in-how secure do you feel? And is it purely for jumping or can you do decent flatwork in it too?

I went the cheaper route and have a Wintec pro jumper. Honestly, I absolutely love it. Very durable, super light weight, easy to clean, and comfortable. Only problem for me is that I have long legs and the flaps are a tiny bit too short for me from hip to knee, but it doesn't make any difference in my riding. My horse loves it too. The cair panels make it comfortable for him as well, and I think he likes that it's light.

i was talking to someone who also has the problem on the long legs.. he says he bought a cross country saddle and just took the knee pads off.. i used to have a wintec close contact.. the pro jumpers have deeper seats then the contacts.. if your going with the wintec get the newer 500 version as they keep you in a nicer position an are more comfortable.. one of the people i go and ride for has a wintec and to be honest they have improved so much and are really quite comfy now..

Yes I bet the Devocoux is lovely to ride in. As I was looking for a saddle I could ride in all the time I didn't go for a close contact as they're not supposed to be as good for the horses back if you're riding for a while-has anyone else heard that? I ended up splashing out on a secondhand ReactorPanel and absolutely love it. It's not a very common saddle to see people jumping in but not only has it allowed my horse to relax and use her back better but I feel really good when jumping in it :D

Barnsby GP, it is very comfy, fits my high-whithered, prominant spined horse with no pads very nicely (but i do put pads on for his KS) but it has taken a few bangs (he rolled on me and i thought the tree would surely break but it still looks perfect exceppt for a feww scratches, very nice saddle although it is not the most sercure and if you don't have a good seat and the horse does something to unseat you it doesn't help haha.

Comfort Intrepid - I do everything in it, it has a deep seat, a good knee roll and a good thigh roll and is £990 from the Saddle Exchange, I love it!
