Ahh the silver brumby. My friend and i used to swap all those books and stay up late on our sleepovers reading them. i loved them.. |

Silver Snaffles is a favourite of mine too. And the Jill series. Black Beauty is a classic and the first horsey book I owned as a child. :-) |

I've really enjoyed this thread! Thank you all.
Those of you who liked the Pullein-Thompson sisters' books might enjoy "Fair girls and grey horses", their joint autobiography. |

p.s. I loved Rosina Copper by Kitty Barne, about a girl who sells or loses her horse and then searches for her and finds her again (if I recall?) I've just found it on the net and there's a sequel! (Christmas present list, where are you...)
Driving books - Driving Force and Driving Finish by Carol Madeline Smith are rivetting real-life stories about Carol's life and dedication to Bear, her Welsh Cob, and how he is driven for England! Very exciting reading. |
