I went hunting for the first time in ages-not everyones cup of rosie lee I know- but it was the most enjoyment I'd also had on a horse for a long time. Having access to wide spaces where I could let my horse gallop. Flying along on a TB was pure heaven and my husband remarked that every time he saw me I had a big smile on my face. At the end of the day I was kernackered and satisfied. I couldn't thank the horse enough for giving me such a lovely day. On the other hand I love doing Equine Touch and energy work with my clients horses. It's at these moments I'm often really touched by the deep sensitivity and soul of a horse and I'm sure they have given me healing in return. I just wondered what other members love doing most with their horses? Maybe it's competing or simply those quiet moments together.

I really enjoy going exploring on a nice hack. I must look like a complete madwoman to anyone that comes across George and I, as we always have lovely conversations! I also enjoy those magical moments where you can feel a deep connection and you know you have been understood and appreciated as a companion.

I like spending time with my pony, i think it is the best gift, i love doing shows and hunting, as i know she enjoys it equally as much as i do. I think people with horses are so lucky, as there are many people out there that want them but can't/don't have them, so i like cuddling up to my pony thinking how lucky i am.

Flick, what you've written sounds like heaven to me! There's not better feeling than galloping along on a TB. My mare is 6yo ex racehorse so i haven't taken her hunting yet, but hope to do so next year. At the moment we just go out for hacks and have been loving galloping in the snow!! The best thing about hunting is getting to see parts of your local area you can't normally ride on.

I just love being with my horse. I love to groom her, and smell her. Sometimes I wish I could bottle her aroma. I love my horse because she understand me better than anyone. I am priviledged to own my own horse and I love making her life as pleasant as possible!!

I love competing on my horse. he is such a show off! when people clap at the end of a dressage test he starts this strut sort of walk and puts his head in the air as if to say "oh yeah, EVERYONE look at me!" he loves it! i also love those moments where we see 100% eye to eye, where we both know exactly what the other is thinking and we understand eachother. that is why i love horses!

I love it when I see a horse that has won a competition or a race and is lapping up the applause-some horses just love it. I do think horses need to have a purpose, a job to do. That's why it's important to find what THEY love doing and then you get that wonderful feeling of partnership. I hoped to compete my gelding when I got him but there was noooo way, arenas, cross country courses, he just hated them. He actually isn't really that fussed about hacking out! But I have had days hunting him on Exmoor which have been bliss. He listens and responds, our adrenalin is up but we trust each other and I experience the nature of him, his power and balance, in the most beautiful countryside .On those days he gives me wings.
